Broadcasters set November deadline for BARC ratings restart
Broadcasters are reportedly preparing to push for the resumption of BARC ratings by November, with discussions now extending to the future of the ratings body if regulatory approval remains pending.
The issue was discussed at a recent IBDF board meeting, where industry stakeholders expressed concern over the prolonged ratings suspension and the absence of clarity from the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.
According to industry sources, broadcasters may formally seek a November resolution. If ratings do not resume, the industry could consider whether BARC should continue in its current form, although a shutdown remains a last-resort option.
