‘Ramayana’ trailer lands as Ranbir Kapoor & Yash’s epic finally comes into play
Namit Malhotra’s ‘Ramayana: Part 1’ has dropped its official trailer, rolling out across five languages in the early hours of 30th July. The launch fires the starting gun on one of India’s most ambitious mythological tentpoles, led by Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana.
The film positions Rama as “the embodiment of Dharma”, unaware of the cosmic design that will pull him into conflict with Ravana, described as “formidable, learned, undefeatable, and immortal”. The trailer sets up the exile, the fracture of Ayodhya and the looming clash that will decide the fate of gods and mortals.
Malhotra frames the project as a cultural milestone. “The Ramayana is one of our greatest epics… Very few stories continue to shape everyday life thousands of years after they were first told,” he said, adding that India now has “the artists, the technology, the craftsmanship and the collective ambition” to present the story on a global stage.
Director Nitesh Tiwari calls the adaptation a responsibility. “Few stories have shaped our understanding of duty, courage, sacrifice and humanity as profoundly as the Ramayana… Every creative decision we have made has been guided by a single thought: to honour this extraordinary legacy with the dignity and respect it deserves.”

Box Office: Yash’s ‘Toxic’ set for release in March 2026
The production mounts a heavyweight creative roster: Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman on score, Terry Notary and Guy Norris on action, and a cast spanning generations, including Arun Govil as King Dasharath and Shobana as Kaikesi. Yash also co‑produces through Monster Mind Creations.
It releases at cinemas his Diwali.
