Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Russell Crowe team up for sci‑fi thriller ‘Bluefly’

Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Russell Crowe are set to headline ‘Bluefly’, a sci‑fi action thriller directed by Nimród Antal. The project’s filming scheduled to begin later this year on Australia’s Gold Coast.

The film follows a grieving UN translator who joins a covert mission to recover a mysterious downed aircraft in the Congo. As the team moves upriver through militia‑held territory, they discover the aircraft was never meant to be brought back, turning the mission into a perilous descent.

‘Bluefly’ is written by David Frigerio, William Eubank and Carlyle Eubank, with production handled by Polite Society, Broken Open Pictures, G2 Dispatch and Highland Film Group. Worldwide sales will be launched at the Toronto International Film Festival market in September.

For Chopra Jonas, the project adds to a growing slate of international titles, including ‘The Bluff’ and ‘Reset’. Crowe, meanwhile, continues a busy schedule with ‘Nuremberg’, Netflix’s ‘Unabomber’ and Amazon MGM’s ‘Highlander’ reboot.

The pairing marks the first collaboration between Chopra Jonas and Crowe, positioning ‘Bluefly’ as a high‑profile addition to the global sci‑fi market.
