Ishaan Dhawan on ‘Yeh Fitoor Tera’ on Star Plus: “Playing Jeet made me realise how quickly we judge people”
Star Plus is set to launch its new drama ‘Yeh Fitoor Tera’, a series built around the pressures young people face when society decides who they are before they have the chance to define themselves. The channel is positioning the show within a wider cultural moment, where Gen Z voices are increasingly visible across campuses, social media and everyday conversation, often met with labels such as “rebellious”, “too emotional” or “too opinionated”.
‘Yeh Fitoor Tera’ examines that tension directly, presenting characters who are not idealised but written with emotional complexity and contradictions. Lead actor Ishaan Dhawan says the timing of the show aligns with a generation pushing back against assumptions and demanding to be understood rather than categorised.
Ishaan Dhawan shared, “Playing Jeet made me realise how quickly we judge people who don’t fit into what we consider ‘normal’. If someone speaks their mind, questions things, or chooses a different path, they are often labelled rebellious or difficult before anyone truly tries to understand them. I think that’s something we see with Gen Z as well. This generation has a strong desire to express themselves and be heard, and that’s what makes Yeh Fitoor Tera feel so relevant today. Jeet is not someone who changes himself to seek acceptance. He is emotional, imperfect, and follows his own path, and that’s what makes him feel real. I believe audiences today connect with characters who are not perfect, but are honest about who they are.”
