Star Plus to axe ‘Ishani’ later this month?

Star Plus is reportedly preparing to bring its series ‘Ishani’ to an early close. The series, which stars Megha Chakraborty and Karamm S Rajpal in the lead roles, is said to have struggled to secure a strong foothold in viewership ratings since its launch.
According to a report by India Forums, the cast has been informed that filming is expected to wrap by mid-October, signalling the end of the show’s run. Originally introduced in July as a spin-off to the popular series ‘Jhanak’, ‘Ishani’ failed to resonate with audiences at the level anticipated.
