‘Dhamaal 4’ opens up better expected numbers on Friday in India

‘Dhamaal 4’ opened in India with a steady and better‑than‑expected first‑day performance, giving the market a welcome lift in the early July frame. The film posted Rs. 13.75 crore to Rs. 15.50 crore net on its opening day, depending on the trade source, with the consensus settling around the mid‑Rs. 14 crore mark. Its India gross was estimated at Rs. 16.50 crore, while overseas territories contributed roughly Rs. 5 crore, taking the worldwide Day 1 gross to approximately Rs. 21.50 crore.

The release footprint was wide, with 10,669 shows across the country and an overall occupancy of 24.54%. Morning footfalls were modest at 8.38%, but the film gained traction through the afternoon at 19.15%, before climbing to 24.85% in the evening and closing strongly with 42% at night. Key circuits performed in line with expectations: Delhi–NCR logged 969 shows with 22.8% occupancy, while Mumbai saw 820 shows at 24%.

From a trade standpoint, ‘Dhamaal 4’ opened ahead of several recent Ajay Devgn releases, including De De Pyaar De 2 at Rs. 8.75 crore and Son of Sardaar 2 at Rs. 7.25 crore. It does, however, trail Raid 2 at Rs. 19.25 crore and the franchise’s own Total Dhamaal, which debuted at Rs. 16.50 crore. Even so, the film has exceeded its pre‑release projections, which hovered around Rs. 12–13 crore, buoyed by strong walk‑ins and the franchise’s enduring recall value.

Overall, ‘Dhamaal 4’ has begun its run on a positive note, delivering a Rs. 13.75–15.50 crore net opening in India and a Rs. 21.50 crore worldwide gross, with stable occupancies across major markets. The trade now shifts focus to the weekend, where sustained evening traction could push the film into a comfortable zone.
