BBC Asian Network reveals top five songs in Official Asian Music Chart public vote
The BBC Asian Network has revealed the public’s Top Five tracks as part of a special vote marking 15 years of the Official Asian Music Chart, compiled in collaboration with the Official Charts Company.
After weeks of voting and strong competition, the Top Five songs were announced in a special countdown show hosted by Nikita Kanda and Haroon Rashid:
1. Tum Hi Ho – Mithoon & Arijit Singh (Aashiqui 2, 2013)
2. One Pound Fish – £1 Fish Man (2012)
3. Satisfya – Imran Khan (2013)
4. Kala Chashma – Amar Arshi, Badshah & Neha Kakkar (Baar Baar Dekho, 2016)
5. Naina – Diljit Dosanjh, Badshah & Raj Ranjodh (Crew, 2024)

The countdown, broadcast on BBC Asian Network, celebrated the chart’s role in highlighting South Asian music and artists over the past decade and a half. Since its launch, the Official Asian Music Chart has featured mainstream hits from British Asian artists such as Naughty Boy and Joy Crookes, alongside Bollywood tracks from Arijit Singh and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, and Punjabi anthems by stars including Diljit Dosanjh and AP Dhillon.
