RAJAR: Fifth consecutive quarter drop for BBC Asian Network

The BBC Asian Network has recorded a further decline in listenership, according to the latest audience data published by RAJAR for the second quarter of 2025.

Over the past twelve months, the national broadcaster’s weekly reach has decreased significantly, from 644,000 in Q2/2024 to 517,000 currently in Q2/2025.

Quarter-by-quarter, the BBC Asian Network’s reported weekly reach was as follows:

– Q2/24: 644,000
– Q3/24: 609,000
– Q4/24: 579,000
– Q1/25: 530,000
– Q2/25: 517,000

In recent years, the station has undergone cost-cutting measures, replacing high-profile presenters with social media influencers at more economical rates. Despite the ongoing decline in listener figures, the BBC Asian Network continues to hold its position as the leading Asian radio station in the United Kingdom.
