Tips responds after Vashu Bhagnani accuses ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ team of misusing music rights
Ramesh Taurani and Tips have issued a statement responding to allegations made by producer Vashu Bhagnani regarding the music rights of ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’. In a strongly worded clarification, the film’s team dismissed the claims as unfounded and motivated by personal hostility.
In its statement, Team ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ said, “Recently, a series of baseless allegations have been made against us by Mr. Vashu Bhagnani. It is amply clear to us that this is a smear campaign driven by personal vendetta, intended to derail the release of our film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai.”
The team also referred to its long‑standing association with Bhagnani, recalling their collaboration on the 1995 hit Coolie No. 1. The statement continued, “Our association with Mr. Bhagnani dates back to 1995, when we generously offered him a 50 percent partnership and a producer credit on a project for which we had laid out all the ground work. Coolie No. 1 went on to become a massive box office hit and gave Mr. Bhagnani a kick-start in the industry. Over the years, we continued to extend our heartfelt support and good wishes to him. It is out of respect for this long-standing relationship that we chose to remain silent until now.”

The dispute centres on Bhagnani’s recent assertions over the film’s music rights, which Tips and Taurani have firmly rejected. The team maintains that the allegations are without merit and have been raised with the intention of disrupting the film’s release.
