Raj Nidimoru hints at Salman Khan in next thriller film

Filmmaker Raj Nidimoru has confirmed that he and long‑time collaborator Krishna DK are preparing to return to mainstream Hindi cinema with a large‑scale Bollywood project and his comments have fuelled strong speculation that Salman Khan will headline the film.

Speaking about their upcoming slate, Raj revealed that the duo are developing multiple projects simultaneously, but their next Hindi feature is the one closest to going on floors. “We are doing a big‑budget Bollywood film. We are doing a Hindi film which is almost ready to go on floors,” he said, signalling their first theatrical venture since 2017.

While Raj stopped short of naming the lead actor, industry chatter has been dominated by reports that Salman Khan is attached to the project — widely described as a high‑concept, big‑budget action film with superhero elements. Raj’s remarks have only strengthened those rumours, especially as he acknowledged the scale and ambition of the film without denying the casting speculation.

The project is expected to be mounted on a global scale, with extensive pre‑production and technical planning underway. According to earlier industry reports, the film is being designed as a major theatrical event, marking Salman Khan’s first full‑fledged superhero role if the casting is finalised.

Raj also noted that he and DK are simultaneously working on an international script and another series, but emphasised that the Hindi feature is their immediate priority. “We are doing a Hollywood script, and we are doing another series. So, we are doing three things,” he said, highlighting the duo’s expanding creative footprint.

With Raj & DK known for genre‑bending storytelling and Salman Khan associated with some of Bollywood’s biggest blockbusters, anticipation around the project continues to grow. An official announcement is expected once casting and scheduling are locked in.
