Mahesh Bhatt joins ‘Naam-To Live is War’ as presenter of film
Mahesh Bhatt has officially joined the upcoming film ‘Naam – To Live is War’ as its presenter, lending his creative weight to a project that marks the launch of a new generation of talent. Although the title echoes Bhatt’s acclaimed 1986 drama ‘Naam’, the makers have clarified that the new film is not a remake, but an entirely original story shaped under his guidance.
The film stars Veer Pahariya in the lead, portraying a morally complex protagonist described as an “angry young man with grey shades”. Opposite him is Varun Sharma, who takes on the first negative role of his career, stepping into the shoes of the film’s primary antagonist. The female lead is expected to be announced shortly.
Directed by Sidhaant Sachdev and produced by Utsav Entertainment and Productions in association with Alphaneon Studioz, the film is positioned as a romantic action thriller blending intense drama, high‑octane sequences and a central love story.
Bhatt, who has been closely involved in shaping the film’s creative direction, expressed strong confidence in the young team. “They have the thirst and urgency to create a place for themselves under the sun. If their collective drive can be used and funnelled down then they will have a unique film in their hands,” he said, praising the cast and crew for their commitment.
