Punjabi courtroom drama ‘Advocate Chauhan’ now streaming on Chaupal
Punjabi OTT platform Chaupal is expanding its content slate with ‘Advocate Chauhan’, a courtroom mystery series headlined by Nav Bajwa, Himanshi Khurana and Gurpreet Ghuggi.
The series stands out as one of the few Punjabi digital productions built entirely around a legal investigation and courtroom battle.
At the heart of the story is a blind lawyer who takes on the defence of a woman accused of killing her husband. What initially appears to be a straightforward case gradually unravels into a mystery filled with hidden motives and unanswered questions, as the lawyer relies on instinct and perception rather than sight to uncover the truth.
The series has been written by Nav Bajwa, who reportedly drew inspiration from lawyer Aanchal Bhateja while developing the character. Bajwa spent nearly two months working on the story and screenplay and used specialised lenses during filming to authentically portray a visually impaired lawyer.

Alongside Bajwa, Himanshi Khurana plays an ambitious young lawyer determined to prove herself in court, while Gurpreet Ghuggi adds moments of levity to the courtroom setting. The series is produced by Naman Hanjra and directed by Varinder Ramgarhia.
As the case unfolds, the line between accusation and truth keeps shifting, making Advocate Chauhan a pull for viewers drawn to courtroom confrontations, mystery and unexpected reversals. With a lead actor stepping fully into performance after years of also writing and directing his own projects, the series carries a personal weight that sets it apart from a conventional legal drama.
