Chaupal releases ‘Pardhan’ exploring student politics in new Punjabi series

Punjabi OTT platform Chaupal has released its latest original series, ‘Pardhan’, which premiered on 18th June 2026.

The six-episode show centres on student politics and examines themes of leadership, ambition, and interpersonal relationships within a college setting.

Directed by Amit Prasher and written by Vivek Saini, ‘Pardhan’ focuses on campus elections and the dynamics that surround them. The story follows a group of students whose lives intersect as they navigate political competition, shifting alliances, and personal goals. Through its narrative, the series raises questions about the role of ambition, the limits of loyalty, and the impact of power on relationships.

The series features an ensemble cast including Karan Sehmbi, Aatish, Tarlok Singh, Sunny Kahlon, Navdeep Bajwa, Priyanka Khera, and Karman Kaur Miglani. The performances contribute to the portrayal of student life and the complexities associated with youth-driven political environments.

Structured as a limited series, ‘Pardhan’ uses its six-episode format to present a contained storyline. The plot includes developments driven by character decisions and conflicts, with an emphasis on pacing and narrative progression.

The show is part of Chaupal’s expanding slate of original programming, reflecting the platform’s focus on developing Punjabi-language content for digital audiences. With ‘Pardhan’, the platform adds a series that addresses a subject area not frequently depicted in Punjabi streaming content.

Speaking about the series, Director Amit Prasher said: “With ‘Pardhan’, we wanted to tell a story that reflects the realities, emotions, and challenges that young people experience while navigating power, ambition, and identity. We are grateful for the positive response the series has received from audiences and hope it continues to spark meaningful conversations.”
