ZEE5 Global announces new original series ‘Satrangi – Badle Ka Khel’
ZEE5 Global has announced ‘Satrangi – Badle Ka Khel’, a drama set in rural Uttar Pradesh. The series follows Bablu Mahto, the son of a Launda dancer, who finds himself compelled to take up his father’s profession. While he accepts this role publicly, he privately seeks revenge against the influential Singh family. The story examines Bablu’s experiences with social stigma, personal conflict and long‑standing resentment.
The cast includes Anshumaan Pushkar, Mahvash, Kumud Mishra, Upen Chauhan, Saddam Sophia Hussain, Atul Kusum Sanjay, B. Shantunu and Amir Khan.
Mahvash described the project as a departure from her usual work, saying, “For me, Satrangi has been a completely new and refreshing experience. The gritty tone of the show allowed me to step outside my comfort zone and explore a more intense, dramatic space as a performer.”
Anshumaan Pushkar reflected on portraying a character from a misunderstood profession, noting, “Satrangi gave me the chance to step into the shoes of a character that comes from a world and profession — that of a launda dancer — which is often misunderstood and unfairly looked down upon.”
