Sunrise Radio picks up ‘Media of the Year’ award
Last Thursday, Sunrise Radio collected the ‘Media of the Year’ in the Political & Public Life Awards 2024 at the Terrace Pavilion, House of Commons.
The award was presented to Tony Lit MBE , MD of Sunrise Radio by the Rt Hon Valerie Vaz MP.

Sunrise Radio to attend IIFA Awards in Abu Dhabi
Lit commented, “It is a privilege to receive this Award and it is testament to the hard work that my talented team put in, to keep our loyal audience entertained. Sunrise is in its 35th year of entertaining British Asians and 10 years ago at a celebration of Sunrise Radio’s 25th anniversary, the then Prime Minister David Cameron congratulated Sunrise on its achievements and wished us much success for the next 25 years. Sunrise has achieved iconic brand status appearing in Bollywood movies and the UK blockbuster ‘Bend it Like Beckham’, I ask is there any British Asian that does not know the classic Sunrise Radio jingles? My team and I are determined to continue Sunrise Radio’s success and we are committed to delivering only the best music and entertainment to the British Asian community. This year we will launch a 2nd National Radio Station, an exciting new current affairs programme on Sunrise, “Asian Britain Decides”, hosted by me, and a Media & Entertainment website.
