Sooraj Barjatya’s ‘Prem Ki Shaadi’ with Ayushmann Khurrana to go on floors in October
Veteran filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya is set to begin production on his forthcoming romantic drama ‘Prem Ki Shaadi’ this October, with Ayushmann Khurrana taking on the lead role.
Joining Khurrana in the ensemble cast are Sara Ali Khan and Wamiqa Gabbi. According to Mid-Day, preparations for the first shooting schedule are already underway in Mumbai, with three elaborate sets currently being constructed at Chitrakoot Grounds in Andheri and Ellora Studios in Mira Road.

Fans may recall that Barjatya had initially envisioned the project with Salman Khan, though that version never came to fruition. A source close to the production clarified, “This is not the same film that Salman and Sooraj ji had once discussed. It’s a fresh script. The team is aiming to reimagine the character of Prem for a modern audience, while remaining faithful to the family values that have long defined Rajshri Productions.”
