Sky launches Sky Glass Gen 2 with brighter display and enhanced sound

Sky has launched the new Sky Glass TV in the UK, featuring an upgraded 4K HDR display with a brighter picture and an enhanced seven-speaker Dolby Atmos sound system.

Available from 12th February, Sky Glass Gen 2 starts at £14 per month and can be purchased through Sky’s website, stores, call centres, and Currys.

Designed for a seamless entertainment experience, Sky Glass combines a high-quality display, cinematic sound, and smart Sky OS software into a single device that streams content over Wi-Fi without the need for a dish or box. It comes in three sizes—43”, 55”, and 65”—and is available in updated colours: Volcanic Grey, Arctic Silver, and Atlantic Blue.

The TV’s advanced HDR technology improves contrast and colour accuracy, while its intelligent system automatically adjusts picture and sound settings based on what’s on screen. The revamped seven-speaker sound system enhances bass and vocal clarity, creating an immersive home cinema experience without the need for a separate soundbar.

Sky Glass Gen 2 is powered by Sky OS, offering a personalised viewing experience that curates content from Sky and streaming apps into one interface. With voice control, users can search for shows, adjust settings, and manage playlists hands-free.

Sky has also introduced new flexible purchasing options. Customers can pay upfront or in interest-free monthly instalments, starting at £14 per month for the 43” model. Subscription plans include Essential TV for £15 per month, featuring over 100 channels and Netflix, or Sky Ultimate TV for £22 per month with an expanded selection of entertainment.

Later this year, Sky will launch Sky Glass Air, a more affordable smart TV option with a 4K Quantum Dot HDR screen, Dolby Audio speakers, and Sky OS features. Pricing and availability will be announced later.
