Salman Khan reveals why he agreed to ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ on ‘Koffee with Karan 9’

Salman Khan revisited his association with filmmaker Karan Johar and revealed how he agreed to appear in ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ during the premiere episode of ‘Koffee with Karan 9’.

During the conversation, Johar recalled approaching Khan for the special appearance in his 1998 directorial debut after several actors had turned down the role.

Johar revealed that Khan agreed to the film without hearing the complete narration. The actor was also willing to take on the role despite being told that he would not receive any remuneration for his appearance.

The conversation also touched upon the close relationship between their families. Johar recalled how his late father, producer Yash Johar, had travelled to Mauritius to help secure government permissions for Khan’s shoot for ‘Hello Brother’.

The anecdote offered a glimpse into the personal relationships that shaped Khan’s decision to work with Johar, as the pair reflected on their long-standing association during the episode.

‘Koffee with Karan 9’ marks the final season of Johar’s celebrity chat show, which first premiered in 2004.
