Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery merger to be named ‘Skydance’
The combined company created through the merger of Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery will be named Skydance, it has been confirmed.
Paramount Skydance chairman and CEO David Ellison announced the name ahead of the completion of the $110 billion deal, which is expected to close on 6th October.
The new company will operate under the Skydance name, while major entertainment brands including Paramount, Warner Bros., HBO and other established labels will retain their individual identities.
The enlarged group will bring together major film, television and streaming businesses, including Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros., CBS, CNN, HBO Max and Paramount+. Its portfolio will include franchises such as ‘Mission: Impossible’, ‘Top Gun’, ‘Harry Potter’, ‘Game of Thrones’ and the DC Universe.

Ellison will serve as chairman and CEO, with former Mattel chief executive Ynon Kreiz joining as co-CEO and overseeing day-to-day operations and integration.
The new company is also expected to change its legal name to Skydance Corporation, with its Class B shares moving from Nasdaq to the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker SKYD.
