Netflix unveils first look of ‘Unaccustomed Earth’ featuring Freida Pinto and Siddharth
Netflix has unveiled the first look at ‘Unaccustomed Earth’, a new family drama inspired by Jhumpa Lahiri’s internationally acclaimed short story collection of the same name. Set within a close-knit Indian American community, the series explores themes of love, longing, loss and belonging.
Showrun by Madhuri Shekar, the series stars Freida Pinto as Parul Chaudhury and Siddharth as Amit, alongside Indraneil Sengupta, Parveen Kaur, Sarayu Blue, Justin Bartha, Adi Roy, Iyla Sundarsingh McKaig and Jayant Kripalani.
When Parul Chaudhury (Pinto), a wife and mother who sacrificed her college sweetheart to honour her father’s wishes, receives a life-changing cancer diagnosis, she moves her family from India back to Cambridge, Massachusetts, the place where she truly felt at home. Determined to pursue the life she once gave up before it is too late, her choices upend the lives of those closest to her and alter the fabric of the immigrant community around her.
