Netflix premieres Neetu Singh Kapoor’s ‘Daadi Ki Shaadi’

Netflix has announced the premiere of ‘Daadi Ki Shaadi’, a Hindi‑language family comedy drama now streaming worldwide.

Directed by Ashish R Mohan, the film follows 72‑year‑old Vimla Ahuja, a lonely grandmother in Shimla whose innocently worded Facebook post is mistaken for an announcement of her own wedding, throwing her granddaughter’s carefully planned engagement into disarray and forcing the family to confront long‑standing rifts and unspoken tensions. As relatives rush from Delhi to “sort out” the situation, the story blends humour with gentle emotion, using the misunderstanding to explore companionship, ageing and the quiet distances that can grow within families.

The film stars Neetu Kapoor as Vimla Ahuja, with Kapil Sharma as Tony, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni as Sunaina, Sadia Khateeb as Kannu Ahuja and R. Sarathkumar as Theeran Devarajan, alongside Tejaswini Kolhapure, Yograj Singh, Aditi Mittal, Deepak Dutta, Jitender Hooda, Flora Jacob and others in supporting roles, rounding out an ensemble cast that anchors ‘Daadi Ki Shaadi’.
