Priyadarshan confirms ninth collaboration with Akshay Kumar
Priyadarshan has confirmed that he will reunite with Akshay Kumar for their ninth film together, following his departure from the director’s chair on ‘Hera Pheri 3’.
The filmmaker stated that his next project is already in development and will feature Kumar in the lead, marking the continuation of one of Hindi cinema’s most enduring actor–director partnerships.
The new film is being backed by Tips Films, with the narrative positioned as a comedy‑thriller, a genre both Kumar and Priyadarshan have been closely associated with through earlier successes. Production is expected to begin towards the end of 2026, with December currently being targeted for the start of principal photography.
