The Indian Premier League (IPL 2019) returns this weekend on Star Gold UK, with the broadcaster pulling out all the stops to give UK viewers a whole new experience to coverage of the much awaited tournament.
To ensure viewers don’t miss any of the action, Star Gold UK and its digital platform, Hotstar will be giving a 360 degrees experience via the two mediums. The coverage will be aired with English commentary from its flagship Star Sports service in India.
The first match between defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore, is being held at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Unlike previous years, there will be no grand opening ceremony this year as the Board of Control for Cricket in India will contribute the funds for the welfare of the Pulwama martyrs.
In the UK, coverage of the first match begins at 12:30 and will continue until 17:45. Star Gold UK will also repeat the match immediately after the live coverage at 17:45 until 23:30. On Sunday, there will be two matches between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad at 09:00, followed by Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals at 13:45. The channel will then broadcast a repeat of the two matches at 17:45 until 21:40. Similarly, Star Gold UK will air repeats of the matches at 17:45.
