Box Office: ‘Mardaani 3’ release preponed
Yash Raj Films has officially announced that ‘Mardaani 3’ will now release earlier than scheduled, with the much-anticipated film set to arrive in cinemas on 30th January 2026.
The ‘Mardaani’ franchise stands as the biggest solo female-led franchise in Hindi cinema, having garnered widespread acclaim and audience loyalty for over a decade. Regarded as India’s only and most successful female cop franchise, the series has achieved cult status among cinephiles for its fearless storytelling and socially relevant themes.
In its third instalment, ‘Mardaani 3’ sees Rani Mukerji reprise her iconic role as Superintendent of Police Shivani Shivaji Roy — a courageous and uncompromising officer who relentlessly fights for justice. This time, the narrative promises to be even more intense, as Shivani embarks on a race against time to rescue numerous missing girls, confronting deeply sinister forces along the way. The makers have described the film as a brutal and bloody clash between goodness and unflinching evil.
Earlier, Rani Mukerji had described the film as “dark, deadly and brutal”, a statement that immediately heightened anticipation among fans of both the actress and the franchise. The tone signals a continuation of the series’ hard-hitting approach to real-world issues.
