Bobby Friction to host new community show on BBC Radio London
Broadcaster and presenter Bobby Friction will join BBC Radio London starting Monday 9th June, to host a new weekly show exploring London’s Asian culture, community, and contemporary issues.
The programme will feature interviews, community stories, discussions, and a curated selection of Asian music. Friction, known for his work on BBC Asian Network, has long been associated with South Asian broadcasting in the UK.
Bobby said: “I’m actually knocked sideways that I’ve been asked to join the legendary BBC Radio London! Born in Hammersmith, with Hounslow in my blood I have enough cross London adventures over the last few decades to know it’s the GREATEST city on planet earth.
I’ll be bringing my deep connection with London’s South Asian community, it’s politics during these interesting times, and its 21st Century cultural output to my new show, and I invite everyone, whatever your background to join the conversation.”

BBC Radio London Executive Editor, Sara David, said: “Bobby will be a brilliant addition to our line-up. He loves the city and knows everything there is to know about Asian London. And I’m thrilled that we will get to hear more of Jacqueline on a Friday night.
She knows what makes London tick and cares deeply about the stories that matter most to black Londoners.”
