Akshaye Khanna happy the industry accepts his reclusive persona

‘Dil Chahta Hai’ (2001) actor, Akshaye Khanna, who reportedly doesn’t enjoy parties and events, is happy that that the industry has accepted him the way he is, and is no longer inviting him to attend them.

The Asian Age reveals the self-confessed introvert, saying, “It’s important to be oneself.  This is who I am, and I can’t change. People have stopped inviting me for parties and events. That doesn’t bother me because they know how I am. In fact, I am really grateful that this has happened.”

Khanna, who is enigmatic to most, reveals that it is very easy to make him smile. “It’s very easy to put a smile on my face as I love humour, and any kind of humor interests me. I don’t want to talk much about myself, but trust me, it’s easy to make me smile,” he said.

The actor stars in this week’s release ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’, essaying the role of Manmohan Singh’s former media advisor, Sanjay Baru. Talking about Anupam Kher, who will be playing the role of Dr Manmohan Singh, Khanna shared, “I enjoy his company so I had a blast with him. He keeps you entertained and he is always happy. It’s a very interesting performance, and the actor’s interpretation. He is a tall man and to give a performance on him is a feather in his cap. I am proud to be working with him.”
