ZEEL lands eight-year deal to broadcast FIFA World Cup in India

ZEEL lands FIFA rights for India through 2034; unveils Unite8 Sports in major sports push

After months of negotiations, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (ZEEL) has secured the exclusive media rights to FIFA events in India under an eight-year agreement covering the period from 2026 to 2034.

The deal gives ZEEL access to 39 FIFA tournaments and properties, including the FIFA World Cup 2026, FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027, FIFA World Cup 2030 and several other men’s, women’s and youth competitions, significantly strengthening the broadcaster’s sports portfolio.

The acquisition will also coincide with the launch of Unite8 Sports, ZEEL’s new sports brand, as the company looks to establish a stronger presence in the rapidly evolving sports broadcasting and streaming ecosystem.

Under the agreement, FIFA events will be available across ZEE’s sports television network and OTT platform ZEE5. The company said its “Festival of Football” programming initiative will commence on June 11, 2026, with coverage spanning linear and digital platforms under the Unite8 Sports umbrella.
