Sony TV confirms ‘Indian Idol 16’ finale after longest-ever run

‘Indian Idol’ on Sony TV has set a new record this year, with its current run becoming the longest season the show has ever aired.

The series has stretched across nine months, far beyond its usual schedule, after the production extended the season to accommodate additional audition rounds, themed weekends and a larger contestant pool. The makers also expanded the mid‑season format to include extra performance episodes, which pushed the timeline well past the show’s standard cycle.

The season now reaches its conclusion with a two‑night finale on 25 and 26 July at 20:00. The extended run has turned the competition into a marathon, with contestants performing through multiple phases that were added to maintain momentum and viewer engagement.

‘Indian Idol’ has never run this long before, and its finale is expected to draw strong interest as audiences tune in to see the end of the show’s longest‑ever season.
