ZEE TV’s ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ attracts hundreds of auditions in London
ZEE TV UK has staged its first London auditions for ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’, marking a major step in the franchise’s international expansion. The event, held at St James’ Court, A Taj Hotel, drew hundreds of singers competing for a chance to travel to India for the main shoot.
The venue remained busy throughout the day, with contestants from varied musical backgrounds and styles. British Asian artists Veronica, Channi Singh OBE and Mona Singh judged the auditions across two rounds, with nine singers shortlisted from the initial pool.
The initiative is part of ZEE TV’s long‑standing commitment to local programming. Although the broadcaster has delivered UK‑based shows and auditions for decades, this marks the first time ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ has opened its doors to British talent. The project has been led by Parul Goel, Territory Head Europe and CFO Europe & Americas at ZEE Entertainment UK.
In a LinkedIn post, Goel reflected on the significance of the moment, saying, “For the first time in over 25 years, aspiring Hindi singers in the UK were given a direct opportunity to audition for ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’, a platform that has launched some of the most recognised voices in Indian music.”
He expanded on the scale of the operation, noting, “What audiences see is a day of auditions. What they don’t see is the ecosystem required to make it happen-creative development, legal frameworks, participant journeys, digital acquisition campaigns, venue design, production planning, judge coordination, registration management, crowd flow, scoring systems, accessibility, hospitality, logistics, data management and real‑time decision‑making.”

Goel added that teams across India and the UK worked together to deliver the event, “Teams came together to transform an ambition into an execution.”
He also thanked the judging panel and the St James’ Court team for helping deliver what he described as an “outstanding experience”.
‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ will return on ZEE TV and ZEE5 later this year.
