ZEE TV UK announces “landmark” partnership with ‘Come Fall In Love – The DDLJ Musical’

ZEE TV UK is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a landmark cultural collaboration, partnering with the prestigious Yash Raj Films to bring the global premiere of ‘Come Fall In Love – The DDLJ Musical’ to the United Kingdom.

The timing of this premiere coincides with the 30th anniversary of ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, the longest-running film in Indian cinema history. ‘Come Fall In Love – The DDLJ Musical’ offers a fresh reimagining of the beloved love story that captivated millions, transforming it into a spectacular English-language musical that seamlessly blends Bollywood’s essence with Broadway-style storytelling.

Directed by Aditya Chopra, the original creator of ‘DDLJ’, this highly anticipated adaptation will be staged at the iconic Manchester Opera House from 29th May to 21st June 2025, giving UK audiences a unique opportunity to relive the magic of the legendary film in an entirely new format. The musical stars Jena Pandya (‘Mamma Mia!’, ‘Bhangra Nation’) and Ashley Day (‘Netflix’s Dynasty’, ‘An American in Paris’), portraying Simran and Roger—a modern, cross-cultural couple navigating love, family, and identity in a globalised world.

The production brings together an exceptional creative team, including Nell Benjamin (‘Mean Girls’, Olivier Award winner for ‘Legally Blonde’), music composers Vishal Dadlani & Sheykhar Ravjiani (‘Vishal & Shekhar’), and choreographer Rob Ashford (‘Frozen’, ‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof’, ‘How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying’), with Indian dance choreography by Shruti Merchant (‘Ladies vs Ricky Bahl’, ‘Taj Express’). Scenic design is helmed by two-time Tony Award winner Derek McLane (‘MJ the Musical’, ‘Moulin Rouge! The Musical’), with casting by David Grindrod CDG for Grindrod Burton Casting.

This collaboration underscores ZEE TV UK’s dedication to showcasing world-class South Asian entertainment on a global stage, marking a historic moment for both Bollywood and musical theatre.
