ZEE TV’s ‘Watch Party’ for ‘Chhoriyyan Chali Gaon’ proves a huge success for UK broadcaster

ZEE TV UK held an exclusive watch party in London to unveil its latest reality show, ‘Chhoriyyan Chali Gaon’ (Beauties Goes to Village), ahead of its official broadcast.

The invite-only event, held at Pali Hill on Mortimer Street, welcomed over 35 guests from the media, entertainment, and business sectors for a curated first look at the show.

This marks a first for any Indian television channel in the UK — a preview screening organised a week before the premiere — demonstrating ZEE’s focus on audience engagement and early feedback. Guests were shown footage featuring four of the show’s contestants as they adapt from urban lifestyles to rural routines. Scenes of cooking on mud stoves and fetching water sparked both amusement and reflection among attendees, many of whom shared personal memories of village life during the evening.

Hosted by ZEE UK’s Territory Head, Parul Goel, the evening included gourmet canapés and refreshments in a relaxed setting. A video message from Mukund Galgali, Deputy CEO of ZEE Entertainment India, acknowledged the international significance of the show and ZEE’s continued commitment to storytelling that resonates with global Indian audiences.

Amit Goenka, President – International Business, ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Ltd., stated, “ZEE has always stood at the forefront of innovation, and with ‘Chhoriyyan Chali Gaon’, we are proud to pioneer a format that blends entertainment with cultural authenticity. This is not just a show — it’s a movement that reconnects our global audiences with the soul of India. Hosting a preview event in the UK, ahead of the official launch, is a bold step that reflects our commitment to creating immersive, meaningful experiences. We are proud to be the first Indian broadcaster to do so, and we believe this marks the beginning of a new chapter in culturally rooted storytelling.”

Attendees responded positively to the show’s premise, which blends reality TV with cultural nostalgia. Many expressed a desire for more formats that offer depth and authenticity, distinguishing ‘Chhoriyyan Chali Gaon’ from other conventional reality programming.

The series is set to premiere on ZEE TV UK on Saturday, 3rd August at 21:00. Early reactions suggest that it may strike a chord with viewers looking for content that is both heartfelt and entertaining.
