Tanushree Dutta reacts to Nana Patekar’s death: “Evil dead” comment sparks attention

Tanushree Dutta has reacted to the death of veteran actor Nana Patekar, saying she was unsure how she should respond to the news.

In a video shared on social media, Dutta said she had heard about Patekar’s death but was travelling to Lucknow for an important work commitment and wanted to focus on the event.

She said she was concerned that the media would be focused on the news of Patekar’s death by the evening, referring to it as “evil dead”.

Dutta added that she would give her reaction once she had decided how she wanted to respond, before offering her condolences to Patekar’s family.

The comment has attracted significant attention because of the history between Dutta and Patekar. In 2018, Dutta accused the actor of sexual harassment during the filming of ‘Horn ‘Ok’ Pleassss’, allegations which Patekar denied. Mumbai Police subsequently filed a closure report in 2019, citing insufficient evidence to substantiate the allegations.

Patekar died on Thursday, aged 75, after suffering a cardiac arrest at his home in Goa.
