Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘King’ cancels Dubai shoot amid Middle East tensions
The production team behind Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming action thriller ‘King’ has cancelled its planned Dubai schedule in light of rising tensions in West Asia. The unit had been preparing to film an extended action sequence in the emirate, but the situation in the region prompted a reassessment of safety and logistics.
The Dubai leg was expected to feature Shah Rukh Khan alongside Suhana Khan and Anil Kapoor, forming part of one of the film’s major set‑pieces. With travel and on‑ground operations deemed uncertain, the makers opted to relocate the sequence to Mumbai.
A large‑scale desert set has since been constructed at a studio in Vile Parle, allowing the team to recreate the intended backdrop while maintaining full control over production conditions. The decision ensures continuity for the film’s schedule without compromising safety.
