Salman Khan’s ‘Maatrubhumi’ remains stuck over China angle
Salman Khan’s ‘Maatrubhumi’ continues to remain in release limbo, with the film yet to secure a CBFC screening, according to reports.
The war drama, previously titled ‘Battle of Galwan’, is understood to be facing hurdles over its depiction and references to China.
A source cited in recent reports said there has been no progress on the film’s CBFC screening. “I wish these reports were true. But with a heavy heart, I’d like to inform you that there has sadly been no update about its CBFC screening. The film is still stuck due to its China connection.”
The film is inspired by the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops. Reports have previously suggested that changes were being considered to address concerns surrounding its China references.

However, the film has not been formally rejected by the CBFC. Salman Khan Films previously stated that ‘Maatrubhumi’ had not yet been submitted to the certification board.
