‘Mere Husband Ki Biwi’ premieres on JioHotstar
Arjun Kapoor’s comedy caper ‘Mere Husband Ki Biwi’ has officially premiered on JioHotstar.
Produced by Vashu Bhagnani and Puja Films, and directed by Mudassar Aziz, ‘Mere Husband Ki Biwi’ also features Rakul Preet Singh and Bhumi Pednekar in pivotal roles.
This modern spin on the classic love triangle follows Ankur (Arjun Kapoor), a man on the brink of proposing to his college sweetheart, Antara (Rakul Preet Singh), when his ex-wife Prabhleen (Bhumi Pednekar) unexpectedly returns, suffering from amnesia and carrying unresolved emotions. What unfolds is a chaotic comedy of errors where mistaken identities and heightened emotions collide, culminating in moments of genuine reflection.
Director Mudassar Aziz shared his thoughts on the project, saying, “This film brings together heartbreak, humour, and hindsight in the most surprising ways. We’ve taken an emotionally intricate situation and infused it with joyful chaos. I had an amazing time working on this project, and I’m thrilled to reach an even broader audience through JioHotstar.”

Reflecting on his character, Arjun Kapoor said, “Ankur is one of those roles that audiences connect with, like my characters from ‘Ki & Ka’ and ‘2 States’. He finds himself hilariously trapped between his past and present in a situation that’s absurd yet relatable. It’s rare for a comedy to deliver such emotional depth amid all the mayhem. Working with Rakul, Bhumi, and the team was a blast. I’m excited for those who missed it in theatres to finally watch it on JioHotstar.”
Rakul Preet Singh, who portrays Antara, added, “Antara is a grounded, sensible character amidst all the madness. It’s entertaining to see her navigate through the chaos while staying composed. ‘Mere Husband Ki Biwi’ is the perfect blend of comedy and drama, filled with amusingly awkward and funny moments. Shooting this film and working with the cast and crew will always be a cherished memory for me.”
Bhumi Pednekar, who plays the unpredictable Prabhleen, described her experience, saying, “Prabhleen is an absolute mood! She’s unpredictable, quirky, and hilariously unique—a joy to portray as an actor. Mudassar sir was an incredible guide, making the process enjoyable and seamless. Working alongside Arjun, Rakul, and the entire team was such fun. I’m thrilled that more viewers can now stream it on JioHotstar.”
