Firoz Nadiadwala confirms Priyadarshan won’t direct ‘Hera Pheri 3’ as director breaks silence

Producer Firoz Nadiadwala has confirmed that filmmaker Priyadarshan will not be directing the upcoming instalment of the comedy franchise ‘Hera Pheri 3’, ending months of speculation surrounding the project’s creative leadership. Speaking in a recent interview, Nadiadwala stated plainly that Priyadarshan is not attached to the film, adding that the production is progressing under a different direction.

Priyadarshan has since responded, acknowledging Nadiadwala’s comments and clarifying his own position. He told Hindustan Times, “What Feroze has said, is true. I am not associated with Hera Pheri 3 at the present… To the best of my knowledge, Hera Pheri 3 will never hit the screen due to lots of legal issues and personal conflicts. Whether I am involved or not is unimportant.”

The director, who helmed the original ‘Hera Pheri’, remains closely linked to the franchise in the eyes of fans, many of whom had hoped for his return. His confirmation, however, aligns with Nadiadwala’s statement and signals a definitive shift in the creative direction of the long‑anticipated sequel.

The future of ‘Hera Pheri 3’ now rests with a new team, though the producer has maintained that the film is still moving forward.
