Disha Patani to star opposite Emraan Hashmi in ‘Awarapan 2’
Earlier this year, fans of Emraan Hashmi were thrilled when he announced the long-awaited sequel to his 2007 cult classic ‘Awarapan’. Now, the excitement has doubled with the news that Disha Patani will star opposite Hashmi in ‘Awarapan 2’.
The original ‘Awarapan’, directed by Mohit Suri, followed the story of Shivam Pandit, a brooding gangster torn between loyalty and love. Though it underperformed at the box office, the film gained a devoted following over the years, thanks to its soulful music and Hashmi’s powerful performance.
In ‘Awarapan 2’, Hashmi reprises his role as Shivam Pandit, while Patani’s character remains under wraps. Directed by Nitin Kakkar, the sequel is said to retain the spirit of the original while amplifying the romance and emotional stakes.

Filming is set to begin in late September or early October, with a theatrical release planned for Summer 2026.
