Yash Raj Films & Posham Pa Pictures collaborate for Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Mupapa’
Yash Raj Films and Posham Pa Pictures have announced their first theatrical collaboration, with Ayushmann Khurrana leading the upcoming film ‘Mupapa’.
The project is produced by Akshaye Widhani, CEO of Yash Raj Films, whose previous production ‘Saiyaara’ became the highest‑grossing romantic film in Indian cinema. The film is directed by Sameer Saxena, regarded as one of India’s leading showrunners and directors. A spokesperson for YRF confirmed that ‘Mupapa’ is scheduled for release on 19 February 2027.
Posham Pa Pictures is known for its contemporary and inventive approach to storytelling, and the collaboration aims to create theatrical work that feels fresh, engaging and suited to today’s audience. Under this partnership, YRF and Posham Pa will jointly produce a slate of theatrical films, beginning with ‘Mupapa’.
The initiative aligns with Aditya Chopra’s wider vision for Yash Raj Films, which includes expanding the studio’s creative model under Akshaye Widhani’s leadership. ‘Mupapa’ marks Widhani’s second film as producer, following the Mohit Suri‑directed ‘Saiyaara’.

Posham Pa’s partners Sameer Saxena, Biswapati Sarkar, Saurabh Khanna and Amit Golani, have collectively contributed to several acclaimed titles, including Kaala Paani and Maamla Legal Hai. Their involvement signals a collaboration rooted in strong creative pedigree and varied storytelling experience.
