New Vision TV to revert back to ARY World in UK

New Vision TV will revert to its original name, ARY World, in the UK from Monday (26th October), marking a return to the branding previously used by the Pakistani news broadcaster in the British market.

The channel launched as New Vision TV in March 2017, carrying programming from ARY News in Pakistan. The name change followed the revocation of ARY Network Limited’s UK broadcasting licences by Ofcom in February 2017.

At the time, the channel operated under a separate licensing arrangement, with assurances that it would be run independently of ARY Network and acquire programming from the Pakistani broadcaster. The new identity was introduced amid regulatory scrutiny over editorial control and responsibility for the service.

BizAsiaLive.com reported at the time that ARY World would broadcast much of the content associated with ARY News in Pakistan, focusing primarily on news and current affairs.

New Vision TV has since established itself as a UK-based Urdu news service, offering coverage of local and international developments alongside politics, business, sport and entertainment.

The return to the ARY World name will restore a familiar identity for viewers who followed the channel before its rebranding in 2017.
