Sonu Sood steps forward to support Rajpal Yadav after being sent to prison
Sonu Sood has stepped forward to support Rajpal Yadav after the comedian was reportedly sent to Tihar Jail in connection with a Rs. 9 crore debt case. Yadav, who is said to be facing a severe financial crisis with no one to turn to, has received a public show of solidarity from Sood, who has offered him a role in his upcoming film along with a “small signing amount” to help him through the difficult period.
Sood took to X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram Stories to announce his support, confirming that Yadav would remain part of his film and appealing to the wider film fraternity to stand by the actor. He urged colleagues, producers and directors to come together so that Yadav feels supported rather than isolated during this challenging time.
“Rajpal Yadav is a gifted actor who has given years of unforgettable work to our industry. Sometimes life turns unfair, not because of talent, but because timing can be brutal. He will be part of my film, and I believe this is the moment for all of us… producers, directors, colleagues to stand together. A small signing amount, adjustable against future work, is not charity, it’s dignity,” Sood wrote.
