Sona Mohapatra calls to ban Anu Malik ahead of ‘Indian Idol 11’ launch

With the launch of Sony Entertainment Television’s ‘Indian Idol 11’ just days away, singer Sona Mohapatra has continued her calls to get Anu Malik banned from the show.

Malik, who has been in the midst of #MeToo allegations returns as a judge on the reality show this weekend. Last year, his time on the show came to an abrupt end due to sexual allegations. Malik has always denied the rumours.

Last month, Mohapatra took to social media to express her views on Malik’s return. She said, “This is the depraved man who rubs himself, threatens, drops his pants, forces someone’s head into his crotch & then repeat replay. This is the man @SonyTV @SonyTVUSA @sonytvuk hires back for the nth time on Indian Idol as judge?”

Today, Mohapatra has continued with her campaign to get Malik banned by tying her tweet into the ongoing Navratri celebrations. She said, “This message to #India from Sony TV on the occasion of Navratri & Durga Puja which is supposed to be a celebration of womanhood & the goddess in our culture. 👇🏾
A message that says that they in fact spit on our faces & on our call out for dignity & safety. #AnuMalik

The tweet also featured a promo video of Malik on ‘Indian Idol 11’.
