Second ‘Batwara 1947’ teaser released ahead of August cinema debut
The makers of ‘Batwara 1947’ have released a second teaser for the upcoming historical drama ahead of its worldwide theatrical release next month.
The new footage offers a closer look at the film’s story, which is set during the Partition of India in 1947.
The teaser focuses on the experiences of people affected by the period’s upheaval, while highlighting themes of courage, resilience and humanity. Sunny Deol features prominently in the new preview, alongside Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Ali Fazal and Karan Deol.

Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit, ‘Batwara 1947’ marks the reunion of Sunny Deol and Rajkumar Santoshi after nearly three decades. The film also features music by A. R. Rahman and lyrics by Javed Akhtar.
‘Batwara 1947’ is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on 14th August 2026.
