Sangita Myska says she was made “surplus to requirements” after LBC exit

British broadcaster Sangita Myska has broken her silence on the circumstances surrounding her exit from LBC in 2024, outlining the events leading to her final programme and the contractual limits that prevent her from disclosing the official reason for her dismissal.

Speaking to Double Down News, Myska said her last interview with an Israeli government spokesperson was followed by a message that she was “surplus to requirements”. “What happened to me was I did an interview with an Israeli spokesperson, and within 48 hours I was told I was no longer on air,” Myska said.

The interview at the centre of the dispute was with Israeli government spokesman Avi Hyman, focusing on Israel’s 1 April 2024 attack on the Iranian diplomatic compound in Damascus. Myska stated she was taken off air within two days of the broadcast, adding that she is legally barred from discussing the events before or after her dismissal.

She also said Global’s lawyers monitored her social‑media activity, warning her that liking supportive posts could breach contractual restrictions. Myska described the clauses as preventing her from ever explaining the full details of her exit.

LBC later announced her departure as part of a refreshed weekend schedule, but Myska’s comments place the timeline and contractual limits firmly in the public domain.
