Sajid Khan set for comeback with Govinda’s son Yashvardhan Ahuja debut film

After a prolonged absence from the industry in the wake of serious MeToo allegations, filmmaker Sajid Khan is reportedly preparing for a high-profile return to the director’s chair. According to industry sources, Khan is in advanced discussions with Zee Studios to helm a forthcoming romantic comedy, which will mark the debut of Yashvardhan Ahuja, son of veteran actor Govinda.

The project is said to be gaining momentum, with rising stars Nitanshi Goel, known for her breakout performance in ‘Laapataa Ladies’ (2024), and Krithi Shetty confirmed as the female leads.

An insider told Mid-Day, “Sajid has been approached by the studio, although he has yet to formally commit. The studio heads are eager to bring him on board, believing the film’s comedic tone aligns well with his directorial strengths. Yashvardhan is also attached to another project with Phantom Studios, but indications suggest this will be his first to go into production. Sajid was previously linked to a film with John Abraham, though that venture did not materialise.”

Speculation also surrounds the film’s origins, with talk suggesting it may be a remake of a successful South Indian title, reimagined for a pan-Indian audience.
