Police clarifies Sushant Singh Rajput’s Wikipedia page not suspicious

There have been a lot of theories surrounding Sushant Singh Rajput’s death on social media over the past few weeks. The latest claim has thrown suspicion around the timing of his death.

According to a few users on Twitter, Singh Rajput’s Wikipedia page was updated with the news about his suicide at 8:59AM, 3.5 hours before the police reached his residence. While this discovery has some fans suspecting foul play, the claim is misinformed. Mumbai Police cyber cell told Zee News that the time discrepancy is actually due to a difference in time zones. Wikipedia follows the UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) time format, which is 5 hours behind IST (India Standard Time). This means 8:59AM UTC would be 2:59PM in India, when the news was being reported on all major outlets.

Singh Rajput’s last film ‘Dil Bechara’ is releasing online on 24th July and will be available on Disney+ Hotstar.
