Akanksha Chamola confirms divorce from Gaurav Khanna: “We have been living separately for one year”
Akanksha Chamola has confirmed on the premiere episode of ‘Lock Upp 2’ that she and actor Gaurav Khanna are divorcing, formally acknowledging the separation after a year of living apart. The disclosure came during an introductory task requiring contestants to reveal a significant personal truth.
Chamola emphasised that the decision was mutual and free of hostility. “This is a decision we have both taken. We have been talking about it for the past one year,” she said. She added: “There is nothing bad between Gaurav and me. We still talk to each other, but we feel that we are not right for each other as partners. That is because we both want different things in life.”
She explained that the strain in their marriage began during Khanna’s participation in Bigg Boss 19. “All this has been going on since Bigg Boss 19. Gaurav’s parents and my parents told us to stay separately for some time. It happens sometimes that when you stay away, you realise each other’s importance.”
Chamola also addressed public assumptions that the couple were reconciling. “Everyone thought that since we were talking, appearing together on social media and supporting each other at events, we would get back together. But we are not getting that couple‑like feeling anymore.”

She concluded her statement with a clear confirmation: “Gaurav Khanna and I are getting divorced. We have been living separately for the past one year. People don’t know about this yet.”
The couple, married since 2016, had not previously spoken publicly about their separation.
