‘Pakistan Idol’ set for return on TV after 11-year hiatus
After more than a decade off air, ‘Pakistan Idol’ is making its highly anticipated return to television screens across Pakistan. The new season, set to launch imminentlty, will feature a fresh judging panel comprising superstar Fawad Khan, qawwali maestro Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, acclaimed vocalist Zeb Bangash, and Bilal Maqsood of Strings fame.
Television presenter and comedian Syed Shafaat Ali will host the revived series, bringing his trademark wit and energy to the format. Auditions are currently underway, with promotional content already appearing on the YouTube channels of Geo TV, Aur Life, Aaj Entertainment, and Aan TV.
In a first for the franchise, ‘Pakistan Idol’ will be broadcast simultaneously across five television networks, a move designed to reach a wider and more diverse audience. The show will also be available via Begin, an entertainment and sports OTT platform, which has been receiving digital audition submissions from aspiring contestants nationwide.
