Nora Fatehi responds to ‘Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’ backlash, says she was unaware of Hindi lyrics
Nora Fatehi has finally broken her silence on the controversy surrounding the song ‘Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’ from the film ‘KD: The Devil’, after the track was removed from multiple platforms following public backlash over its explicit Hindi lyrics. The actor‑dancer, who features in the song, issued a clarification distancing herself from the creative decisions that led to the dispute.
In a video shared on her Instagram, Fatehi explained that she had no involvement in the lyrical changes that sparked criticism. “I was not aware of the Hindi version of the song,” she said, adding that neither she nor her team had been informed about the altered lyrics prior to the release. She emphasised that she had only shot for the visual performance and had no role in approving or reviewing the final lyrical content.
Fatehi went on to say that the situation had been unexpected and disappointing, noting that her team would be “more careful in the future” to avoid similar misunderstandings. Her statement comes amid ongoing confusion, with songwriter Raqueeb Alam also publicly denying authorship of the controversial lyrics.
