Aditya Dhar on ‘Dhurandhar 2’: “Don’t leave your seats until the credits have stopped rolling”
With the release of ‘Dhurandhar 2’ fast approaching, director Aditya Dhar has shared a heartfelt note expressing his gratitude to audiences for embracing the first film and for turning it into a cultural phenomenon. His message reflects both appreciation and a renewed sense of responsibility as the team prepares to unveil the sequel.
Dhar began by thanking viewers for the extraordinary response to Dhurandhar, which opened worldwide on 5th December 2025. “You didn’t just watch our film. You loved it. You lived it. You appreciated every quiet detail, debated every moment, rewatched it, and noticed things I never even thought anyone would,” he wrote, acknowledging the depth of engagement the film inspired. He added that somewhere along the way, the film “became yours. Then the nation’s. And then the world’s,” calling it the most moving gift a filmmaker could receive.
Turning to the sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, Dhar explained that the team approached the project with a clear intention: to surprise the audience and evoke emotions they might not expect. “We had to make you feel emotions you weren’t prepared for. Deeply. Honestly. That is never easy. But for you, we tried our very hardest,” he said.
He emphasised that the sequel has been crafted with the cinematic experience firmly in mind. “We’ve put our hearts into Dhurandhar: The Revenge so you can experience every twist and emotion exactly the way it’s meant to be felt, in a theatre, in the dark, surrounded by friends, family, and even strangers, everyone feeling the same emotions. That’s how films should be experienced. Not on someone’s phone in a blurry image.”

He added, “Let every single fan walk in clueless but curious and walk out with their own deeply personal version of what they felt. You made Dhurandhar what it is. Now I’m trusting you to protect what this becomes. “Oh, and one more thing. Don’t leave your seats until the credits have stopped rolling.”
As anticipation builds, Dhar’s message serves as both a tribute to the fans who championed the original and a promise that the sequel aims to deliver an even more powerful theatrical journey.
