Mouni Roy & Suraj Nambiar split, say they will “cherish their friendship”
Mouni Roy and Suraj Nambiar have officially announced their separation, bringing an end to weeks of intense speculation that began after the couple unfollowed each other on Instagram and deleted wedding photos from their profiles.
The confirmation follows a series of developments that had already fuelled widespread rumours about trouble in their marriage.
In a joint statement shared on social media, the couple expressed dismay at the “unnecessary and intrusive attention” into their personal lives and confirmed that they have “decided to part ways,” choosing to handle the transition “privately and amicably.” They also condemned the circulation of “fictitious narratives and blatant falsehoods,” urging the media and public to respect their privacy during this period.
Their announcement comes after several signs of strain became public. Suraj reportedly deleted or deactivated his Instagram account amid the speculation, while Mouni removed most photos featuring him. Reports had also suggested that the two had been living separately for months, with some outlets alleging deeper issues behind the scenes.
Mouni had previously addressed the rumours indirectly, requesting the media to avoid “false narratives” and give them space.
The couple, who married in Goa in January 2022 in ceremonies honouring both Malayali and Bengali traditions, had frequently shared glimpses of their relationship online until late 2024, when their joint appearances and posts noticeably declined.
